Circle Sanctuary May Fire Circle, Wisconsin

Another chant that emerged during the Fire Circle, this time in response to what seemed to be a long period of group focus on pain and the past.  After a while, I started mulling on the tendency in Western culture to believe that healing is a function of dealing with our history - and asked for something to work the end of the wounded-healing-wellness paradigm that focuses on creation and practicing new approaches. The chant became the foundation/background for people to speak their intentions to the fire, in community. The first night I arrived at Circle Sanctuary, I had flown in from Las Vegas and was on a pretty different time zone. I stayed out next to a small fire long after everyone went to bed, listening to the incredible chorus of creatures in the night - 3 kinds of frogs, many different birds, coyotes and more. During the occasional stillnesses, the sounds of the fire seemed that much more dramatic that usual by contrast. I spent a long while in deep listening and contemplation...
